Opening of 'Bee Box' in Helsinki tonight

Opening tonight of Anne'sBEE BOX in Lasipalatsi Square, Helsinki. Bee box was commissoned by C-Lab, and is also currently showing in Spittalfields, London. It follows on from Ben Dromey, Mina Arko, Jari Suominen's artwork, CITYBEAT, Finland's presentation for EU funded European Public Art Centre which is now about to be shown in Riga, Latvia.

Bee Box was chosen to be part of European Public Art Centre’s Public technologies exhibition. Public technologies is the first exhibition ever organized in Europe that spreads to four European cities at the same time.

The European Public Art Centre is a network of international organizations that promote and foster interdisciplinary contemporary culture and particularly collaboration between art and science. .

The first public art exhibition held simultaneously across eight countries in Europe focuses in relations between art, science, society. As the UK representative, Anne Brodie will present her new artwork, Bee Box for the first time, before showing in Helsinki, Finland during Nov, Dec 20011.

Shortlisted for Tall Ships residency

I was one of 4 shortlisted artists selected from an international call out for artist in residence on board The Swan, a traditional Shetland fishing boat built in 1904.

Congratulations to Imi Maufe for being the chosen artist. The Swan will participate in the 2011 tall ships rave from Waterford, Ireland to Helsingborg, Sweden.
